August-present!

Well here I am trying to cram three months into one blog post! It's been a rough couple of months for us. In August we found out that we were pregnant! I was so unbelievably happy but very nervous. It took 13 months for us to conceive. On August 23rd I started having some cramping so the doctor put me on modified bedrest and told me to take it easy. On the 26th we found out that we had another miscarriage. This one was almost the same down to the day as the miscarriage in March 2010. 6 weeks 4 days. I feel like I handled it a lot better this time. We are still hopeful that we will have a healthy child soon.
In September nothing too exciting happened. Kind of just the same ol same ol!
October has been a busy month for sure! On the 21st my best friend Vanessa had her baby girl Azalea! I was there with her when she gave birth and it was one of the most incredible experiences EVER! I had an emergency c-section with Addie and had never witnessed a vaginal birth in person. Vanessa was a champ and didn't get an epidural, was only in labor for three hours and pushed four times! Little Lea is a gorgeous baby girl and I love to hold her. I think going through that with Vanessa has made our bond as friends much closer. She has another daughter named Lily who is around the same age as Addie so seeing her as a big sister warms my heart. I hope Addie can be a big sister someday.
On Saturday the 22nd my Brother's fiance went into labor! My little nephew Kota was born on October 22nd at the same hospital as Azalea! It was amazing! I love love love my little nephew! He is the first boy born in our family since my brother Coty! They got to go home last night and I can't wait to see him again. We weren't there when Natali gave birth but I heard she did wonderful! Kota is such a cute little man. I can't wait to watch him grow. They are going to be great parents.
Addie is doing great. She is completely potty trained! It's been sooooo awesome! She is my big girl =) She is learning new things everyday. She loves to color and play with play doh. She still loves all things Jessie and cowgirl. We are having a barnyard/Jessie birthday party for her this year! We went to the "pookin patch" on Saturday and she had a great time. She rode a pony, went through a corn maze, went to the petting zoo and all kinds of other fun stuff.
I am going to fold some laundry but I will update with pictures soon!

I need a t-shirt that says:

"Yes, we want to have more children. Yes, we know Addie is getting older. Yes, she wants a baby brother or sister. Thanks."

I feel like I answer questions like this on a daily basis. I think our whole miscarriage and year of trying to conceive will make me NEVER ask someone questions like that. Mainly because you never know what's going on in someone's life behind closed doors. I always answer with a smile but it does sting a little bit when people ask if we're ever going to have another baby. Well, we've been trying for 13 months so thanks for reminding me!

I really want my children close together in age and every month that goes by makes me sad....

What has happened since April!

I haven't blogged since April! HOW SAD! I do have a good excuse...I was putting together our new house! I am still compiling pictures of everything to share with my blog friends. I've been painting and decorating and all that good stuff. Along with taking care of a crazy toddler and all the usual (Church, school, etc.) We also got a puppy! He's a Blue Heeler. He's 14 weeks old and his name is Thor! Having a puppy is a lot more work than I thought but we love it. Andrew is halfway done with his Masters program and I am almost done with my Associates...how sad? I know! I will be going to U of P for my BA after I finish. My new goal for blogging is going to be once a month. That's my minimum though. I would like to make it a weekly thing. Well...I will work on posting more pictures and updates soon.

May 2011

Since I missed a couple months of posting I am going to update about each month until the current month. My friend Alli explained how to do back dated posts so I think that's how I will do it! I'm going to do my best to remember what happened in each month lol

I spent most of May getting settled in our new house. I was painting, decorating and organizing everything! It's been hard work but completely worth it. Addie had a hard time adjusting to the move. The first night she cried and pulled on the front door because she wanted to "go home." We moved her toddler bed into our room and she slept there for a week or so. After that she was fine.

We have lots of birthday in May in our family...my Dad, my Brother, my Brother-in-law and some friends share birthdays in that month too. I think we went to 4 birthday parties in May! It was nuts!

On my Dad's birthday (May 17th) Addie I joined my parents for lunch at this great little local place called Wild West Steakhouse. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We all loved it!

Around my Brother's birthday (May 23rd) he found out that his girlfriend was carrying a boy! The first boy grandchild in our family. Very exciting! They decided to name him Kota Lot Blough.

We also had our first home owner stresses in May. We bought a used washer and dryer set and my Dad helped Andrew hook it up in our upstairs laundry room (dumbest thing EVER!) We ran it once without laundry in it to make sure it was hooked up correctly and then went about our business. I was painting Addie's playroom and Andrew was doing some laundry. All of the sudden I hear water hitting tile. I yelled to Andrew, "Is Addie peeing on the floor??" and the next thing I see is Andrew flying up the stairs and turning off the washer. The hose popped out of the washer and it flooded the laundry room...I mean A LOT of water! Even the carpet in the hallway was flooded. We have an emergency pipe that's supposed to direct the water out to the backyard but instead it directed the water to come pouring out of the light fixture in our kitchen! It was a big mess and very scary. Luckily we got it all handled and no permanent damage was done. We fixed the washer and now it works like a champ! I wanted to cry when all of this was happening lol.

In May we also did the 30 Hour Famine with our Church Youth Group. It's an amazing organization and gives us a chance to impact the world in our own Church. We ask people to donate to us while we go 30 hours without food (Almost like a walkathon, donate per hour) and then spend the 30 hours together at the Church doing community service projects, playing games, singing worship and doing Bible studies. We stay overnight at the Church and then break our fast with communion and a big BBQ. It's really a blessing to watch these teenagers not only dedicate two days of their time but also being HUNGRY (which is such a big deal for teens) so they can help feed people in need. $1 feeds a child for a day and we raised over $2000.00. It was amazing!

I think those were the big events for May!

So much to do!

We got the keys to the house yesterday! Now it's moving, painting, decorating! I might be MIA for a while but I promise to post pictures of the new house soon!

Easter weekend 2011

We had a wonderful weekend! Sunday we went to Easter SONrise ervice at our Church which is outside at the Pastor's barn and it was absolutely beautiful. Then we went to my parent's house and spent time with them. Addie got to feed the baby ducks which she loved! Then off to Coolidge to spend time with Andrew's family! It was very tiring but fun!

The baby ducks!

I'm raising a cowgirl??

Apparently I am raising a cowgirl! Miss Addie is obsessed with everything "yeehaw" these days and I think it's adorable! We went to the County fair on Sunday and she was able to ride a pony. I thought she was going to be scared but my girl hopped on and yelled "YEEHAW!" the whole time! Then she cried when it was over! I think it's adorable. And I saw these boots:

And HAD to get them for her! She wears them every single day and refuses to take them off. I am actually thinking about ordering a back-up pair lol. Her love of these boots is demonstrated here:

I think it stems from her love of Jessie from Toy Story.

We should be signing papers/getting keys for our new house on Monday! I CAN'T WAIT! It's gorgeous and we are buying it for a ridiculous price. I just can't wait to decorate and start painting!

Day 29 & day 30:

I am combining two since I missed posting yesterday!

Day 29: Something you have learned in the past month.

That buying a house is the most frustrating process in the world. I am ready for it to be over and to be in my new house!

Day 30: Your favorite song.

I've been listening to a lot of country lately and my favorite song right now is "Ours" by Taylor Swift.

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Day 28: A picture of you from last year and now. How have you changed since then?

This picture is from April 2011:

And this picture is from May 2010:

How am I different? Obviously my hair is different lol. I think I have matured a lot in the last year. 2010 was one of the most difficult years of my life...we had a miscarriage in March 2010, my Brother was beaten and robbed at gunpoint in April 2010, our funding was pulled after 90 days in escrow while trying to buy our house in May 2010 which led to horrible living situations...it was a lot to take in one year. But now I am a stronger and wiser person after having been through all of that. I think my relationship with Christ has grown which is making my life better day by day. I am now the Mother of a toddler, not a little baby, which is making my life more worthwhile. I think I am a happier person in 2011.

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Day 27: Why are you doing this challenge?

Honestly, I am hoping it will get me into the groove of blogging everyday or at least a couple times a week. Also, I love reading when other people do these types of things so I thought it would be fun to do one myself!

Monday, April 11, 2011

Day 26: What do you think of your friends?

I think my friends are awesome....that's why they are my friends! I am blessed to have lots of people who care and me and my little family =)

Sunday, April 10, 2011

I love this little girl more than anything in the world....

My Parents call me Heidi Hozer lol and I have no idea where that came from! Andrew calls me the usual - hunny, sweetheart and Wifey.

Day 13: A letter to someone.

I'll never refuse an excuse to write a letter to someone I love...especially not my sweet little daughter =)

Dear Adeline,

Being your Mommy for these last 28 months has been the best moments of my life. Watching you grow has been a wonderful blessing that God has bestowed on me. It's amazing to know that He - God - trusts me with one of His most precious gifts; you. Jesus says children are the heritage of the Lord and I really do see God's face every time you smile your sweet little smile.

I take my job as your Mama very seriously and everything I do is out of love for you.

When you say I love you; make sure you mean it because to say it and not mean it is truly the most painful of all lies. I love you. My love for you is bigger than the moon and stars and strawberry milk and anything else of worth in the world.

If you make a mistake have the courage to admit it, it doesn't matter if you are forgiven or not, what matters most is that you took responsibility. Always remember that no matter how bad of a mistake you may make, no matter how
much pain and regret it may cause, the people who truly love you will see past it because you matter to them more than you may fully realize. I know I will not be a perfect Mother but I am willing to admit when I make mistakes, apologize and do my best to correct them.

I love your Daddy. He is my best friend, my love, my soul mate and everything else in between. It is from that love that you were created. You are the apple of his eye. I know he loves you more than me and I am fully OK with that.

You are my greatest accomplishment. You have opened every corner of my heart and filled it so much that it's bursting with love and joy.

I loved you yesterday, I love you still...I always have, I always will.

Love,
Mom

Things that Addie inherited from her Mama (ME!)

So I know I have yet to write my "30 Days" post yet but I will be working on that later....

- Super light/fair skin....but we were pale before Twilight made it cool =)

- Baby blue eyes! Our eye color is exactly the same!

- Her hair color....Unbelievable, I know! Underneath my layers of artificial dark hair is a light reddish brown/dark blonde.

- Her rosy cheeks. Okay, well that's from me and her Daddy but still.

- The ability to get a sun burn standing in front of a bright lamp, lol.

- A love for all aquatic animals...whales, fish, dolphins, starfish - anything that lives under the sea!

- A serious love for strawberry milk and tortilla chips. =)

-Wonderful taste in music! Some of her faves being Vampire Weekend, Hawk Nelson, Death Cab for Cutie, POD and Skillet!

- A love for babies and children in general.

- She loves to read! Whether I am reading to her or she is "reading" to me she loves it!

- She LOVES going to Church. I can remember being a young child and being so excited every week to go to Church. As soon as we turn off of the freeway Addie starts yelling and clapping about going to Church and seeing her friends!

- A love of art. She loves to paint, draw, color and create!

There are soooo many more but these are things I have noticed in the past couple months!

Day 12: How you found out about blogger and why you have one.

One of my old childhood friends had a blog to keep up to date with family and friends on how they are doing. I thought it was a fantastic idea and decided to start one for our family who live out of state or we don't see very often! I am not always on top of it but I do love it!

Day 10: songs you listen to when you are happy, sad, bored, hyped, mad

I Will Possess Your Heart - Death Cab for Cutie

Such Great Heights - Iron and Wine

Monster - Skillet

Esther - Esterlyn

Human - The Killers

It's so hard to just pick a couple! But these are some of my favorites =)

Day 9: Something you're proud of in the last few days.

I am so happy that I have been succeeding in changing Addie's diet! She's a picky eater...always wants the same things over and over. Waffles with no syrup for breakfast, lunch-ables, cheese sticks, fruit snacks, spaghetti, noodles - you get the picture. I decided that I want her to eat better and try new things so at least once a day I have given her something new. Even if she only tastes it and doesn't eat it. She has been doing really well and has found some new foods that she likes! Most recently has been English muffins with pizza sauce and shredded cheese and celery dipped in low fat ranch! I hope she continues to at least try new things so I can add more variety and healthy foods to her diet!

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

Day 8: Short term goals for this month and why.

1. Do my absolute best to promote 30 Hour Famine. Last year our Youth Group raised $1500.00 by doing the Famine and this year we hope to do even more! We will be fasting for 30 hours and every dollar we raise feeds a child for a day. If you want to sponsor me...let me know!

2. Continue to do well on my diet. I've lost 15 lbs in the last two months!

3. Potty train my toddler! I know she's ready...I've just got to figure it out.

4. Continue to do my daily quiet time and read my Bible everyday.

5. Buy a guitar and learn how to play!

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Day 7: A picture of someone or something that has made an impact on your life.

Adeline Lauren Kabbani. She has completely, 100% changed my life and only for the better. She has filled my heart with love and joy and makes me be a better person every day. I am so incredibly blessed to be her Mommy and I thank my Heavenly Father for her everyday!

Two posts in one month?!?! Oh yeah!

February was a great month for us! Valentine's Day was wonderful! We had pizza at home because Andrew had to take a 4 hour final for one of his Masters classes. We went to a late movie and saw "The Dilemma" which was super funny. I got Andrew some candy and he sent me an edible arrangements. It was SO yummy! Then on the 25th Andrew celebrated his 25th birthday! I took the girls from our Youth Group to the Revolve Tour and it just so happened to land on his birthday! He was such a great sport about it! Addie and I bought him a couple new shirts. We had a birthday dinner for him at Macayos which was very yummy!

I had a wonderful time taking the girls to Revolve! My helper ended getting sick right before the event so I took 16 girls ages 12-17 by myself! We saw great bands, awesome speakers and learned a lot! It was FUN! We will definitely be going back next year!

It's pretty late but I will be updating again next week with pictures =)

New things Addie can do!

Andrew and I were looking through pictures of Addie from birth to present and I can't believe how big my little baby is! She is learning new things every day. I gave her a mani/pedi this morning and she said, "Thanks for coloring my piggies, Mommy!" It just makes you want to squeeze her!

She skips and jumps everywhere! She also knows how to gallop like a pony. It's adorable!

She knows five colors! Blue, red, yellow, purple and green.

She can count to 10 without omitting any numbers!

She knows her name and also refers to herself as "the Baby." This morning she wanted my water bottle and said, "Mama, give that to the baby!" lol

She says please and thank you for everything. She also says excuse me when she burps or when she passes by people in the store.

She knows shapes, too. Circle, triangle, square, heart and star. We're working on more shapes everyday!

When she sees letters she calls them "E-E-I." I don't know why she does but I think it's hilarious!

She loves to dance!

She says a new word almost everyday. She's also starting to put together simple sentences and phrases.

She pretend plays all the time. She cooks food for us in her kitchen, plays with babies and feeds them, all kinds of things! She also love Fisher Price Little People!

Can you believe?

I really can't believe Addie is already 2 years old (26 months to be exact.) It really feels like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. She's such a sweet little girl. She can be very stubborn sometimes but she is a lover.

Right now we are working on potty training. It's a little frustrating at times but I know she understand the concept and that's why we keep trying at it. We bought her big girl panties and she loves them but she still has tons of accidents. I know she will get it eventually and we just have to keep trying.

She is still having sleeping issues but it's getting better everyday. One night she will sleep through the night just perfectly and then the next she will be awake for 2-3 hours in the middle of the night. I don't mind too much because I am a SAHM but if I had to work it would be pretty difficult. We've tried eliminating naps to see if that helps but all it does is make a super cranky little girl and she begs me to put her to sleep. I know it will pass and soon she will be older and I will miss these days when I got to cuddle and spend time with her watching her favorite movies.

I joined Weight Watchers this month. It was difficult to get used to the first few days but now I feel like I "got it." I had my first weigh in yesterday and I lost 10lbs! Can you believe it?!?! 10 lbs! I think a lot of it had to do with not drinking soda and getting rid of all the water and sodium weight but either way I am SO excited. I was able to work out three times but I am hoping I can do it everyday. I not only want to look better but I want to feel better - feel healthy. I don't want Addie to have the "fat parents." I am really dedicated to sticking with it and FINALLY getting rid of this weight. Sometimes it's hard because I just want a hamburger but the food I get to eat is still pretty yummy. I'll keep updating as I weigh in every Thursday.

I finished my 1st semester back at college in January. My major is Small Business Management. While I love education and someday hope to be a teacher, right now I just need to finish my undergrad and business is the most economical for us right now. I took 9 credit hours and only had one class I didn't like. I start again in March and am taking 9 credit hours again. Andrew started his Masters degree this month and he isn't liking it so much. It's hard for him to go to work all day and then come home and do homework. I know he will get the hang of it, though!

All in all we are happy and healthy and we couldn't ask for anything more!

New Years Eve 2010

I don't know why my pictures showed up sooo big on the last post but I am definitely too lazy to fix it :-/

New Years Eve we went over to my sister's house and had a lot of fun! We played WII, ate mexican food, had a bonfire...it was great! Addie was feeling a little better so that helped, too.

Resolutions for 2011:

Have a baby! We have been trying since the miscarriage in March 2010 and I am really hoping this year brings a baby for us.

Be on time...Andrew and I are usually late and so far we have held this resolution!

Give up soda by the end of 2011. It's not gonna happen in one day but I am slowly weaning myself lol

Christmas 2010

My poor girl was sick the whole week of Christmas! When she woke up from her nap on Christmas Eve she had a high fever. We gave her tylenol and it helped a little but never completely went away. Then the runny nose started...fun. She was lethargic and just didn't feel like herself. Christmas Eve night we decided to skip Church since Addie wasn't feeling well and had my Mom and Dad and Andrew's Mom and her husband over for dinner! I made a turkey! A 17lb TURKEY! And it turned out amazing. I was literally hyperventilating while making it because I was certain I was going to mess it up. We had a fun night and opened gifts with our families. Christmas morning Addie woke up around 6:00AM with a very high fever (102.5) and you can see in our pictures she had very red cheeks because of it. She came downstairs and squealed with delight when she saw the Mickey Mouse quad, basketball hoop and Mickey Mouse couch we got her! Even though she wasn't feeling well she played with all her toys and had fun. We decided to still go to Coolidge to visit Andrew's Grandparents and that we would just leave if she got worse. We had fun but you could tell Addie didn't feel good :-( Christmas 2010 was fun but I just wish Addie wouldn't have been sick. I ended up taking her to the Doctor on Wednesday the 29th and she had double ear infections and a cold. She is feeling better now, though! Here are some pictures!
